Mapping apps for Android

These easy Android map apps offer some features you won’t find in Google Maps.

Although almost every Android-based device comes bundled with Google Maps, enterprising developers are still creating alternative map apps. Google Maps is a capable tool, but it’s not perfect. For example, it is limited to a single map source, and it doesn’t cache maps on your device. The lack of a local cache can be a serious issue when you are traveling abroad and don’t have access to WiFi.
So, don’t be surprised to find several thirdparty map apps that solve these problems and add nifty features of their own. In this article, I’ll look at some interesting map apps worth installing on your Android device.
